Please enjoy this week’s Scripture Garden which combines both written and visual prompts to help you create your own based on the idea from my book, Soul Gardening. I hope you’re encouraged to dream in a garden, discover your spiritual season, and find peace for your soul.
WRITTEN
Seek and read from the book of the Lord: Not one of these shall be missing; none shall be without her mate. For the mouth of the Lord has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them. Isaiah 34:16 ESV
VISUAL
DEVOTIONAL
Love is my deepest desire. Because I struggled with my health and weight, I desperately hoped I wouldn’t be single forever. I waited twelve years, ten months, and twenty-four days from the day the Lord promised me a husband in Isaiah 34:16 to the day Marc proposed on Coronado Beach, California.
That’s a lot of waiting. I have to be honest, there were times I did not wait well. I became bitter. Why didn’t God honor His promises when I wanted Him to?
I’m glad I never gave up hope or stopped looking for my husband, but I regret taking matters into my own hands. There were times I put myself in bad situations with guys who I knew were not right for me.
I wonder what is the one thing you desire most? Have you searched the Scriptures to see what God’s Spirit is already doing?
Every time I was consumed with my longing and my disdain for my saangle relationship status (see really single), I asked God for help.
He opened my eyes to see all the other women who were hurting and alone, and because of this, I will always be a champion of women with a soft spot for singles who need to be seen.
